December is finally here. The long awaited break that Iman and I have been anticipating since 2012 started. Hahah! So, before I move on, I just want to apologise for the lack of updates since Ramadhan. We both have been busy with our studies.

On my part, I'll try to update this blog on a weekly basis. I'm not sure how my access to internet will be once I get to London, hence weekly posts with tons of pictures would have to do for now. I'll be there from 12th December until the rest of the month. It's going to be quite an experience spending New Year's Eve and New Year 2013 itself on the plane back home.

I just had my lunch. I'm so full now. Can't wait to go to Yazin's place this coming Wednesday to help him cook dinner for Angie's birthday!

Where do I go from here?

Here I am, thinking too much of the past and the future. I find it difficult to focus on the present, right now, as if it doesn't even matter to me. But I know it shouldn't be disregarded as it would definitely leave an impact on my past and present selves. A relative recently passed away (this morning actually) which had me skipped school today to attend the funeral. As I watched a loved one being lowered 5 feet underneath the earthy ground, it struck as a reminder to me that life isn't going to last forever and the older you get, the closer you are to death. The last time I faced the reality of death was probably in 2006. After exactly 6 years of witnessing it, I felt more anxious at the latest sight of another person obtaining closure of her life. It really made me think about the sins that I did and no doubt that I would be making more of them only to be given karmic retribution in return. I feel all the more helpless, but effortless? No, I don't dare to live my whole life without even making an effort to make the best of it and to find a purpose.

Yes, I know. I sounded pessimistic at the beginning of this post, but you know what, no one likes to be dragged down by negative thoughts and ideals. Might as well be on the brighter side of things. After all, there is a saying that says as follows...

So what else do I need to catch up on? Ah, you must be wondering how my school life is treating me as a pre-university student. Well I think it's obvious that I'm getting busier as time progresses into the future. Truth be told, I haven't really been able to concentrate on my studies lately. Which sucks. I kinda figured that it's just a phase due to the numerous distractions that I like to call as guilty pleasures amidst the mundane daily routines. Absurdity at its finest, but I revel in the break it has to offer me from reality as it allows me the opportune time to recollect my self-esteem in such a way that it would benefit me rather than degrading it altogether.

I have tons more to vent out from this lil' heart of mine but I think I'll just leave it here. The most honest remark I would have to make before I end this post is that I am reluctant to leave this bed - metaphorically speaking - and get up for the sake of productivity. But for reasons that this reluctance can get me into jeopardy, I have to leave this world of comfort and dreams and return to the real world.

With that, I bid you so long until my future words meet you again. Have a great week! Hope you guys like the video below; And Then You by Greg Laswell.

Catch Me If You Can

My beloved friends from young to old.

I feel utterly out of place. I'm not as carefree as I used to be and I'm starting to think that I haven't got any time left in this world. Everything's going so fast and expectations are growing uncontrollably. I'm tired of trying to please everyone, that I have to admit.

I seriously need a break.

So... I made it! :D We're currently under probation for next 3 months, the MPs as well. It's kind of frightening in a way since we'll be monitored intensively by the seniors. But I'm excited. They said that they won't think twice to eliminate those who have bad repos during the probation, even more frightening! I just hope that I make the cut without jeopardizing my studies.

Hi guys! I'm sorry for the lack of updates from yours truly. I've been totally uptight with the first assessment. Both History and Psychology papers were doable at least. I'm actually aiming for straight A's! Now I'm left with Thinking Skills and Literature. Gonna be a lot of work but I think I'll survive.

Enjoy the video I included in this post! It's a great song. I'm not a fan of Taylor Swift but I have to admit, this is the best of all her works. The Civil Wars is a bonus, definitely!

Have a great Sunday! x

What ever happened to chivalry?

Yes, it once thrived, and yes it is now quite endangered.

But think about it. Seriously. Back in the time and place chivalry was called home, there also lived the beautiful, simpering maidens. These "maidens" had a perfect figure and perfect features. Their hair never fell out of place, and their makeup never smudged. They all followed the same philosophy. I have never bothered to take the time to become a beautiful, simpering maiden to find out exactly what this philosophy is, but I do know the basics of it. It is the "Oh no, I have carelessly dropped my handkerchief on the ground, and I am too perfect to have to bend down and pick it up myself" philosophy. This is given out to handsome, rich and influential males, and is usually accompanied by the overly flirtatious batting of eyelashes. Not that I have anything against flirting with handsome, rich and influential males. However, this is just pushing it.

Now, to conclude why chivalry is endangered. Imagine you are a male back in the habitat of chivalry (preferrably a handsome, rich and influential male!). You walk down a street at a market. Out of the corner of your eye, you see a small white square of cloth and lace float silently to the ground. You, out of chivalry of course, stride over to the handkerchief and the maiden who possesses it. Picking it up, you hand it to the damsel and kiss her hand, all the time watching her eyelashes fluttering in an eccentric fashion. You walk away only to be greeted by at least 10 similar floating handkerchiefs, all accompanied by coquettish eyelash fluttering. Now try and imagine doing this every day, at least 10 times a day.

I will assume that you are normal and you agree with me that you would be annoyed by such a pathetic routine. Girls love to be pampered and fawned over, that's true. However, I think the majority of the female population does not like to be turned lazy. Chivalry, in my opinion, is not endangered due to a lack of respect. It is due to a gain of respect. I feel that guys respect that girls are not meant to be simpering idiots. We are, in fact, quite intelligent and strong. Also, I believe the male population needed a break from all of this chivalry towards simpering maidens.

Besides, we can pick up our own handkerchiefs. :)

P/S: OMG, my first opinionated post!

Hooverphonic - Eden (Live Recording) [Video]

I can't sleep... so here I am, posting this video up. It's a very breath-taking song and the music is somewhat melodramatic. Oh, and I saw a video of Xander kissing a THG co-cast outside of Roosevelt some time this week. I was like, "WHAT THE FUCK? NOOOO!" My heart is broken. :(

Lana Del Rey - Dark Paradise [Video]

An inspirational song. Gotta love her.

Hello! :D

It's been a while since I last posted. I've been bed-ridden as I contracted high fever, severe headache and a cold. Can't wait to be back to school this Saturday! Thanks for wishing me well, Iman! :)

So last weekend, I watched The Hunger Games with Brandon and his brothers and cousins. It was well-done. I was hoping that Gary Ross didn't rush the movie because there wasn't much of development (relationship-wise) between the characters, but I have to admit, I bawled my eyes out when Rue died. Everything else was amazingly portrayed!

One of the characters in the movie that really had me starstruck the most was Cato, played by our once child star Alexander Ludwig whose first leading role was in the movie The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising. He's amazing and I knew he would grow up to be a handsome lad, and he turned out to be way better than I expected. Just look at his sizzling body! Hence, I will bring this post to the inevitable.

Warning: FAN-GIRLING MODE ON!!!

Today's The Day!

My dad's sister, Mak Uda, is getting married today. I'm so psyched for her! I just got back home from accompanying her to buy a San Disk memory card as well as picking up her cake for one of the 5 matrimonial gifts for the bridegroom.

These are my belated birthday gifts; blue stuffed teddy from Mak Uda and Victoria's Secret Hand and Body Cream from Uncle Siva, one of Daddy's best friends, who bought it for me while he was in Singapore.

P.S. Nice cover, Iman! :D
